Groth Vineyards & Winery, the iconic California producer, is a rarity in today’s Napa Valley: a multi-generational, family-owned and operated estate. In 1981, Dennis and Judy Groth purchased a 121-acre vineyard property in the heart of Napa Valley’s Oakville district. Today, their daughter Suzanne is the second generation in charge, continuing the tradition of excellence started by her parents. This continuity of leadership and close family ties have allowed Groth to become one of the most revered estates, not only in Napa Valley, but all of America. The estate produces exceptional estate-grown Cabernet Sauvignon that is full, lush and exquisitely elegant. In 1985, the Groth Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon was the first American wine to receive a perfect 100-point score from Robert Parker. Groth's Estate Chardonnay captures the quintessential characteristics of its varietal and provenance. Inviting aromas of crème brûlée, green apple, ripe cantaloupe and apricot jam greet the nose with an underlay of orange blossom, lychee and baking spice. The palate is rich and luxurious with an opulent surge of grilled peach and yellow plum kept in focus by a lift of orange zest acidity, finishing long with a toasted brioche echo.
