Weingärtner Stromberg-Zabergäu is a co-op in Würtemberg, producing wines from the two most important vineyards in the region: Heuchelberg and Stromberg. About 1,000 growers farm 690 hectares of vineyards with most growers treating their vines either sustainably or organically. The co-op produces several different, high-quality wines from traditional German grapes like Riesling, Weissburgunder, Trollinger and Lemberger among many others.
One grape varietal that is widely grown among the members is Schwarzriesling, also known as Pinot Meunier, which the team at Stromberg-Zabergäu has crafted into a delightful traditional method sparkling rosé wine. Aged for 17 months on the lees, the Pinot Meunier rosé shows a brilliant salmon color with a steady stream of tiny bubbles. Aromas and flavors of red apples, raspberries and flowers permeate the nose and palate, which also features a vibrant acidity and remarkable freshness. Enjoy on its own or with pork and apples.
