Established in 2008, Juanvi Viticultor is a small, artisanal winery perched at 1000 meters, in the town of Rubielos de Mora which resides in the Sierra de Gúdar-Javalambre mountains of Valencia, Spain. The estate consists of four organically-farmed vineyards planted to Garnacha and Tempranillo. The youngest vines were planted when the estate was founded, though the oldest are over 90 years of age. The soils are shallow, rocky and granitic for the Garnacha; for the Tempranillo, calcareous-clay. The region has a strong continental climate, with a wide daily variation of temperatures from very cold at night to very hot during the day, perfect for optimal development and ripening.
Juanvi's Rubielos de Mora is a beautiful 70/30 blend of Garnacha and Tempranillo with a fresh, fruit-driven nose and palate. Cherries, pomegranate and cranberry flavors mix with notes of earth and espresso. This wine is full of juicy, ripe fruit that is wonderfully balanced by bright acidity and mild tannins. The finish is light and refreshing. Delicious and easy-drinking, this wine is extremely versatile on the dinner table.
