Located in San Polo di Piave in the Veneto, the estate that is today Azienda Agricola Giol has been around since 1427. In 1919, the Giol family purchased the property, and in the 1980's, it began conversion to organic farming. Since 1987, the estate is fully certified organic: no herbicides; vegetable and mineral fertilizers to avoid groundwater and soil pollution; soil enrichment with organic matter, nitrogen and trace elements. And since 2007, all of their wines are vegan. Work in the cellar is low-tech including low (to zero) additions of sulfur. Giol's Il Fortunato sparkling rosato is made from 100% Merlot, making a surprisingly delicious clean, crisp, lively bubbly that delivers amazing value and refreshment!
