Shelter Wine Company is a collaboration between David Stevens and Mark Snyder. Shelter sources fruit and wine from some of the best terroirs in Napa. So prestigious (and secretive) are their sources, that they are not allowed to disclose where they get it from. Once they have secured their juice, it's up to the master himself, Robert Foley, to craft a truly remarkable wine. "The Butcher" is named after a local butcher in Napa who is known for catering parties for the winemaking elite of the valley. The quality of the wine is unmistakable, brilliantly showcasing the skills of the King of Cab.
If you're looking for grace, elegance and richness in a Napa Cabernet, look no further than The Butcher. On the nose, intense aromas of mocha, chocolate, cassis and dark red berries erupt from the glass. This is a wine that challenges you to stop smelling it and start drinking. And you'll be thankful you did. On the palate, this 100% Cabernet Sauvignon delivers wave after wave of ripe fruit flavors balanced by subtle notes of vanilla, cedar and spice box. The intensity of these luscious flavors is magical, coaxed out by the deft hand of Robert Foley. The texture is silky smooth and the finish just keeps delivering a decadent essence that seems to never end, but gracefully floats away into the ether. This is what Cult Napa Cabernet is like. You can pair this with rich meat dishes, but it is so magnificent that you might want to have it on its own.
