Fratelli Broccardo has been a family estate since 1940’s, though it wasn’t until the 21st century they began selling their estate wine commercially. Today, the third generation manages their 7 hectares of vineyards in the Langhe, Monforte d'Alba, Barolo and Novello where they grow Nebbiolo, Barbera, Dolcetto and Arneis.

The fruit for this 100% Nebbiolo is from two vineyards — San Giovanni and Bricco San Pietro — hence the name il Gió Pi. Fermented with native yeasts in stainless steel tanks, then aged for 6 months in large 25 hL casks and tonneaux. Light ruby color with aromas and flavors of crunchy red berries, rose petals and dried herbs. Zesty and refreshing, with soft tannins and lots of energy, this is an excellent picnic red; enjoy slightly chilled with an artisanal salumi sandwich.
