Description

Masintín is an old Inca word for "what is realized, not what stays in theory".

Vinos Masintín was founded in 2017 by three wine enthusiasts from Belgium and one Chilean winemaker, Diego Urra Gosselin. Together, they aim to produce small-scale, honest wines from forgotten sites in Chile from the Maule and Itata Valley. Masintín sources all their grapes from old vines and non-irrigated parcels owned by small farmers who they support in their move to regenerative farming. They harvest País, Cariñena and Garnacha from Maule Valley and Cinsault, Moscatel and País from Itata Valley.

Masintín’s Maule Valley País displays a light ruby red in the glass presenting a beautiful bouquet of bright red berries tinged with notes of cocoa and fresh earth. The palate is delicate, though well-structured presenting a load of cranberry, açai and pomegranate flavors wonderfully enmeshed with lively acidity and fine, well-incorporated tannins. The finish is long and vibrant. Delicious on its own (especially with a slight chill), but incredibly versatile on the table. Try with Mediterranean starters (tapas, mezze, antipasto), roasted chicken or grilled veal chops.
