Thymiopoulos Vineyards - "Young Vines" Xinomavro 2024

The Thymiopoulos family has owned vineyards in Naoussa for several generations, though it wasn't until early 2005 that Apostolos Thymiopoulos began making wine from estate fruit. Focusing primarily on Xinomavro grown in the family's organic vineyards, Apostolos has become one of Greece's superstar winemakers, crafting a style of Xinomavro that tames the grape's wild tannins while providing purity and intensity of fruit. His first wine, Earth and Sky, became a benchmark for high quality Xinomavro in Naoussa. He continues to champion indigenous Greek varietals while also helping farmers understand that viticulture is a meaningful vocation, one that instills a sense of pride in growing grapes.

Thymiopoulos Young Vines is made from 100% Xinomavro, the second wine to Apostolos' iconic Earth and Sky. The vines are grown on schist, granite and limestone soils, then fermented with native yeasts in stainless steel and aged 8 months in concrete. 25% whole cluster fermentation gives the wine a lovely juicy, red-fruit freshness to compliment the savory herbs and rustic charm. Polished and inviting with zippy acidity and incredibe purity, the Young Vines Xinomavro delivers the hallmark Thymiopoulos style: clean, precise and bursting with juicy fruits while showcasing the inherent varietal character and traditional quality of the grape.
