Mont'Alegre - Clássico Tinto 2022

Brothers Francisco and Paulo Gonçalves, born and raised in the village of Montalegre in Trás-os-Montes, founded Mont'Alegre Vinhos in 2015. With a desire to produce mountain wines, the brothers planted one of Portugal’s highest vineyards in Montalegre (at 1070m) and they additionally source grapes from vineyards located between 600-800m in Trás-os-Montes’ Chaves and the Planalto Mirandês sub-regions. After gaining experience in port houses, they wanted to focus on making fresh, elegant wines rather than very concentrated ports.
