Le Fief Noir - La Cueillette de Oiseaux 2023

Dominique Sirot and Alexis Soulas met in working in the vineyards of Corsica, immediately established a kinship and embarked on their own project, Le Fief Noir. After scouting a number of different locations, Dominique and Alexis felt that Anjou was the place to establish their winery, raise their families and create expressive, terroir-driven wines. They settled on a 20-hectare estate in St-Lambert du Lattay in Anjou Noir, a part of the appellation rich in black schist soils, ideal for growing Chenin Blanc but also good for Cabernet Franc and the rare Grolleau. All vineyard work is organic with manual harvesting.
