Ivan Enjingi is one of Croatia's superstar natural winemakers. His vineyards, spread out on 50 hectares in the Kutjevo appellation, overlook the Pozega valley. Ivan grows nine different varietals — planted along the slopes of Mt. Krndija in soils that vary from sandy loam to extreme rock — including Riesling, Zweigelt, Pinot Noir and Gewurztraminer. In fact, the Enjingi vineyards used to be the official vineyards of the Austrian Emperor and his crown. All of the vineyards are farmed organically with very low yields to help create wines that are a true expression of the land.
The Rajnski Rizling is made from 100% Riesling. Ivan likes to release his Rieslings with some bottle age in order to showcase the nobility of his terroir. The wine is well-structured and balanced with a refreshing acidity, intense fruit profile and long finish. Enjoy with seafood, pork tenderloin or goulash.
