Domaine Jomain - Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru 2023

Brothers Philippe and Christophe Jomain, along with sister Catherine formed this family domaine in 1992. The siblings focus on making wines from Chardonnay, which makes sense based on their impressive holdings of vineyards in Puligny-Montrachet, including vines in four Premier Crus and the Grand Cru of Bâtard-Montrachet. All of their vines are tended by hand without the use of chemicals, and all grapes are harvested manually. The wines are made without any manipulation in order to express each vineyard the grapes come from. There is never any more than 25% new oak used for the wines, and during maturation the family does like the rich mouthfeel that the wines get from extended lees-aging and bâtonnage.
