Domaine Jacqueline Frachet is a third-generation, family-owned estate based in Beaune, where Julien Cauvard and his mother, Jacqueline Frachet, oversee 18 hectares of vineyards across the Côte de Beaune. Centered on old-vine holdings in Chorey-lès-Beaune, the vineyards are rooted in gravelly clay and limestone soils that consistently produce wines of purity, finesse and classic Burgundian character. The family practices traditional, sustainable viticulture, replacing chemical fertilizers with natural compost while employing a combination of plowing and permanent cover crops according to the needs of each parcel. Careful hand harvesting, meticulous fruit selection and patient aging in French oak preserve the freshness and transparency of each vintage, resulting in refined Burgundies that faithfully express both their terroir and the timeless appeal of old-vine Pinot Noir.
Lustrous ruby in the glass, this old-vine Pinot Noir reveals fragrant aromas of ripe cherry, wild raspberry and red currant, layered with hints of rose petal, forest floor and sweet baking spice. The palate is supple and beautifully balanced, offering vibrant red fruit framed by silky tannins and lively acidity. Subtle earthy nuances and a touch of mineral freshness emerge on the long, refined finish, giving the wine both immediate charm and the structure to evolve gracefully over the next several years. Enjoy with herb-roasted chicken, veal with wild mushrooms or pan-seared duck breast.
