Domaine des Perelles - Beaujolais-Villages Rouge 2025

The Perrachon family has been involved in the wine trade since 1601, when they first settled in Juliénas in Beaujolais. Today, Laurent Perrachon and his wife Martine, along with his children, Maxime and Adrien (the sixth generation to work in the family business), run the domaine, which began producing estate wines in 1877. The vineyards consists of 26 hectares in six of the ten Beaujolais Crus: Juliénas (where they are still based), Morgon, Moulin-à-Vent, Fleurie, Chénas and Saint-Amour. The Perrachons have one of the most extensive and comprehensive Cru holdings among independent producers in Beaujolais. In addition to the Crus, the family also makes Beaujolais and Beaujolais-Villages; red, white and rosé. All grapes are hand-harvested and the wines are fermented with native yeasts, then aged in their vaulted cellars which were built in 1701!

Domaine des Perelles’ Beaujolais-Villages is made from 100% Gamay sourced from 35+ year-old vines from three separate vineyards planted on soils of granite and clay-limestone fermented in concrete tanks and aged in concrete for six months. Light ruby color in the glass, this red offers vibrant aromas of fresh strawberries and muddled raspberries. The palate is light and fresh, incredibly easy-drinking with soft tannins and a bright, refreshing finish. Enjoy with a variety of salads, cured meats and hard cheeses or grilled chicken.
