Description

The Paquet family has owned properties in Burgundy since the early 1950's. Agnès Paquet took over the vineyards and set up her Domaine in 2000 after completing her wine business studies in Beaune. The estate is located in the remote village of Meloisey, in the Hautes Côtes de Beaune right near the village of Auxey-Duresses. She conducts every aspect of the winemaking process, from vine to bottle. The micro-production of her wines, combined with her status as a darling of France's three Michelin Star "Somms" (from the restaurants of Alain Ducasse, Anne-Sophie Pic and Joël Robuchon) allows us to realize how lucky we are to feature these beautiful wines.

Agnès’ Le Clou et La Plume Aligoté takes its name from its two plots of origin: Topo du Clou and Les Plumes. This Bourgogne blanc presents a gorgeous blend of aromas on the nose: lush citrus blends with stone and orchard fruits along with a hint of almond butter. Lemon-zested green apple and white peach flavors coalesce with a subtle, flinty mineral streak that runs through the wine. This Aligoté exhibits a vibrant elegance, though is well-structured throughout, finishing with length and persistence. Seafood is a no-brainer: oysters, scampi or grilled halibut or salmon. This will also pair lovely with soft cheeses (cow or goat) or fried dishes, especially chicken.
