Corrado de Angelis Corvi - Montepulciano d'Abruzzo 2021

Corrado de Angelis Corvi’s winery — nestled in the rolling hills around Teramo in northern Abruzzo — was established in 2002. The estate is comprised of eight hectares of vineyards (six to Montepulciano and two to white varietals Trebbiano, Malvasia, and Passerina). Corrado organically farms his vineyards and is in the process of earning his biodynamic certification. Vines are all cultivated and harvested manually, as well as meticulously sorted before pressing. Corrado crafts fabulous and approachable wines that express his passion and speak to their Abruzzo roots.

De Angelis’ Montepulciano d’Abruzzo pours a strikingly deep ruby, offering bright aromas of red and black stone fruits accented with warm spice and tobacco. The medium-bodied palate displays waves of black cherry and plum preserves kissed with hints of clove and dark chocolate. Moderate acidity and smooth tannins seamlessly intertwine with these flavors and carry them toward a soft and lengthy finish. An excellent accompaniment for meat-based pasta dishes… sausage tortellini, beef lasagna or tagliatelle tossed with a short rib ragù.
