Château Taillefer - Pomerol 2018

Château Taillefer is one of the oldest estates in Pomerol, dating back to 1785. The château was built in the early 1800's and the estate is located in the extreme southwest of the appellation, near the city of Libourne. The vineyards consists of 11.5 hectares planted to 75% Merlot and 25% Cabernet Franc on sand and gravel soils with high amounts of iron. The wines are fermented in concrete vats and aged in 33% new French oak barrels for 15 months and drink very well young.
