Description

Château Les Ormes de Pez's original name, in the 16th century was Domaine de Pez, though after the French Revolution, the estate was renamed Ormes de Pez after the elm (orme) trees that once dominated the property. Today, the estate is owned and operated by the Cazes family, who also own and manage the famous Pauillac Château Lynch-Bages.

The 35 hectares of vines are planted to 54% Cabernet Sauvignon, 37% Merlot, 7% Cabernet Franc and 2% Petit Verdot. The Cabernets thrive on the gravelly parcels composed of quartz and rolled pebbles, whereas Merlot is best-suited to the cooler, sandy-clay parcels. Ormes de Pez produces wines that are powerful and harmonious with a smooth, fleshy texture and wonderful fruit and terroir expression.
