Description

Château de Cary Potet is located in Buxy in the Côte Chalonnaise, about 40 minutes south of Beaune. The château is one of the oldest in the Chalonnaise, having owned by the Du Besset family since the 15th century. In the 1970's, the Desfontaine family purchased the château and it has been in their hands ever since. The geneological records of the family show that the Desfontaine's have been winegrowers for 12 generations, since 1592! Today, brothers Xavier and Arnaud run the estate with their mother, Véronique, where they make extraordinary Chardonnay from Montagny and exceptional Pinot Noir from Mercurey. Together, Véronique and her boys epitomize the tradition, quality and family-focus that is abundant in the Chalonnaise.

The Château de Cary Potet Bourgogne Rouge, made from 100% Pinot Noir, pours a light ruby red with crimson reflections. On the nose, aromas of roses, cherries and red berries waft from the glass. Medium bodied with pillowy tannins and a refined, delicate acidity, the Bourgogne Rouge showcases excellent balance of fresh and ripe fruit flavors of raspberry and red plum tinged with a subtle savory spice note on the finish. This a gorgeous example of the approachability, deliciousness and drinkablility of wines from the Chalonnaise. Enjoy with braised rabbit, baked salmon or roasted pork loin.
