Château Carbonnieux is an historic estate located south of the city of Bordeaux in the Pessac-Léognan appellation where it is ranked as a Grand Cru Classé de Graves. Such is its reputation that in the 18th century, it was served to the Sultan of Constantinople as "mineral water from Carbonnieux" so as to not break the Islamic restriction of serving alcohol. It is well known for producing one of the top white wines in all of Bordeaux year in and year out.
The white wines of Château Carbonnieux are blends of Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon. In their youth the dry whites are pure and expressive with a wonderful fruity and floral intensity. These wines will age however, and after 5-10 years they will develop a rich texture and complex flavors of roast nuts and dried fruits. Enjoy this wine with white meat birds, cheeses or a wide array of different fish dishes.
