Nestled at the foot of Monte Erice in western Sicily, Baglio Ingardia is a family-run organic estate where history, terroir, and craftsmanship converge. The estate was founded by Salvatore Ingardia on 20+ hectare property surrounded by calcareous and clay-rich soils caressed by sea breezes from the nearby Trapani coast. Today, his daughter Mariella and grandsons Nicola and Salvatore cultivate indigenous Sicilian varieties Grillo, Zibibbo, Perricone, and Nero d’Avola, as well as Grecanico, Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay, producing wines that balance Mediterranean ripeness with a distinct saline freshness. The historic 18th-century “baglio” serves as both the heart of production and a symbol of continuity, embodying generations of sustainable viticulture. Each wine reflects the authenticity of its landscape—sun-drenched, windswept, and deeply rooted in Sicilian tradition.

Baglio Ingardia’s Born to be Wine Bianco — a gorgeous blend of Grillo and Insolia — pours a brilliant straw yellow with shimmering green highlights. This sensational Sicilian white opens with inviting aromas of lemon blossom, white peach, ripe pear and golden apple, underscored by subtle hints of almond and sea spray. On the palate, Grillo contributes vibrant citrus energy and a refreshing mineral backbone, while Insolia lends a softer texture and notes of orchard fruit and wildflowers. The interplay between freshness and roundness creates a beautifully balanced wine, with flavors of Meyer lemon, peach skin and crisp apple unfolding across the palate.
