Description

Azienda Agricola San Salvatore is in the heart of the Cilento National Park, near Paestum in Campania. The estate consists of 149 hectares of organically farmed vineyards, olive groves and other crops. Founded by Giuseppe Pagano in 2006, he named the estate after his first born-son, Salvatore. San Salvatore's first harvest was in 2009, but their historic vineyards were planted by the ncient Greeks with the same varieties that flourish in the region today: Falanghina, Fiano, Greco and Aglianico. Giuseppe is committed to preserving the delicate ecological balance of the land, cultivating his vines along biodynamic principles with no synthetic or GMO products. From supplying their own power needs with an onsite photovoltaic plant and a biodigester, to reducing their carbon footprint and emissions through innovative processes, San Salvatore continues to excel and be a leader in environmental wine practices in the Italian wine industry.

Brilliant straw-yellow in the glass with faint green reflections, the 2025 Capranera Falanghina opens with an inviting bouquet of white peach, green apple, Meyer lemon, apricot, elderflower, and orange blossom, accented by hints of Mediterranean herbs and sea spray. As the wine evolves in the glass, subtle notes of pineapple, banana, and wild fennel emerge, lending additional aromatic depth and complexity. On the palate, this beautiful Falanghina combines vibrant freshness with a supple, textured mouthfeel. Crisp citrus and orchard fruit flavors are layered over a saline, mineral-driven core that reflects the coastal vineyards from where it is grown. The wine's lively acidity provides energy and precision, while its silky texture and gentle richness create remarkable balance. The finish is long, clean, and mouthwatering, echoing notes of lemon zest and wet stone. San Salvatore's Capranera is sophisticated yet immensely approachable… the quintessential southern Italian white — equally at home alongside seafood and any light pasta dish (such as Mediterranean-style steamed clams, spaghetti tossed with olive oil, garlic and herbs or orzo with shrimp and feta) or enjoyed on its own as a refreshing aperitivo.
