Join us in welcoming luminary and world-renowned superstar winemaker Telmo Rodriguez for a one-of-a-kind Spanish wine tasting at the Princeton Corkscrew on Friday, February 28th from 5 – 8 pm. Telmo’s nearly five decades of wine experience will be on full display as we taste offerings from four of his incredible wines.
One of Spain’s pioneer winemakers, Telmo Rodriguez has spent his career advocating native varietals and the special link between them and their terroirs. A champion of indigenous grapes, Telmo crafts exceptional, world-class wines — from both undiscovered and well-known regions — that reflect the unique character of their sites. After studying viticulture and oenology at the University of Bordeaux, Telmo returned home to take the reins of his family estate, Remelluri. In the early 1990s, while still at the helm at Remelluri, he began to travel across Spain, on a mission to discover ancient, and oft-forgotten, vineyards and regions. Telmo was one of forerunners to produce significant wines in regions such as Toro, Rueda, Cigales and Valdeorras, as well as being a standard bearer in Rioja and Ribera del Duero. Yet what may be most remarkable is that though Telmo Rodriguez makes rare, sought-after wines of exquisite quality and composure, it is his everyday wines that are even more renowned for their astonishing quality and sensational value.
This will be Telmo’s first visit to the Corkscrew and it is certainly a not-to-be-missed event. Never before have we had the privilege of hosting a winemaker of such prestige and pedigree.
