Jacques Diebolt is a winemaker who displays a rare degree of passion in both his vines and in his reverence for tradition. His tete de cuvee, Fleur de Passion, originates from 60 year-old, Grand Cru vines. He vinifies this wine in the old style; barrel-fermented, without malolactic fermentation, unfined, and unfiltered. The resulting wine is explosive aromatically, with a rich, mineral-laced middle and a long, long finish. More than one taster has remarked that drinking the Fleur de Passion is like drinking great Meursault with bubbles! |
